Florence Bennett

Nashville – Mrs. Florence Bennett née Owen, age 96 of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Samuel R. Owen and Florine Bell Owen. She taught preschool for more than 30 years at Glen Leven Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bennett had a great love of children, loved chocolate, and was the best "Grandma" to her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Crievewood United Methodist Church and actively participated her Bible Study groups. She enjoyed many years of square dancing. She was a life long player of the bridge card game. The family hopes her bridge clubs and church remember her fondly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years (Charles W. Bennett), her sister (Bell Owen Luther) and her daughter (Patricia McCormick).

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Julian; grandchildren, Stephanie McCormick (Don Davis) and Tony (Amanda) McCormick; sister-in-law, Emily Bennett; nephews, Bob (Sheila) Luther and Randy (Ann) Luther; 4 great grandchildren, and several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Graveside Services will immediately follow the visitation at Hermitage Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm.
