Eric Stephen King

Eric Stephen King, age 38 of Hermitage, TN passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016. He was born in Nashville, TN to Nancy Steiner King Pauly and Teddy Ray King. His Step-father is Burton Pauly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Katherine King, John and Maybelle Steiner and Step-grandmother, Bertha Strobl Steiner.

Eric grew up in Hermitage, TN and attended Holy Rosary Academy Grade School. He graduated in 1996 from McGavock High School in Donelson, TN. Eric was active in several sports growing up and had many trophies for his accomplishments in soccer, baseball, football, basketball and swim team.

Eric started working part-time jobs in high school and found he had various talents over the years such as artistic drawing and tattooing. He was currently the owner of his own company, “Eric King Painting” of which he was very proud and worked hard.

Eric enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and his favorite activities were camping, canoeing, disc golf, bonfires, carving pumpkins and writing poems.

Eric is survived by his Mother, Nancy Pauly; Father, Ted King (Susie); Step-father, Burton Pauly; sister, Jennifer McGuire (Phillip); sons, Stephen Austin King and Silas Alan King; Fiance, Katie Dalton and her children, Cheyenne Lawson and Grace Dalton; Aunt, Judy Bailey (Stan) and many loving cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Rd, Old Hickory, TN 37138 with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be John Ritter (Eric’s Baptism Godfather), Phillip McGuire, Keith Mack, Josh Tyree, Andrew Swarner and Thomas Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138. A Vigil Service will be held from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
