Emilie Jane (Crotzer) Jones, 83, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on May 31, 2024. She was born on March 29, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents, Samuel and Dainie Crotzer. Nicknamed “Sissy”, she was the youngest of ten siblings.
Mrs. Jones was a 1958 graduate of Cumberland High School. After high school, she met the love her life and got married. Together, she and her husband, raised three children and were married for thirty years until his passing in 1999. She was a homemaker for many years but, periodically, worked outside the home; particularly, she worked in the secretarial pool at GENESCO.
Mrs. Jones had many interests. She loved animals and was especially fond of cats. In earlier days, she enjoyed bowling. She also loved puzzles, working crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble. She loved well . . . was well-loved . . . and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Jones Crotzer; her mother, Dainie (Adkins) Crotzer; her husband of thirty-nine years, William Doyle Jones; a daughter, Kristy (Jones) Parrish; a grandson, Christopher Holman; and all nine of her siblings.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Sherri Robinson (James); her son, Raymond D. Jones (Tammy); grandchildren Kristina Holman, Ashlee Holman, Justin Parrish, Jesse Parrish, Samuel Parrish; step-grandchildren Steven Robinson, Stewart Robinson; great grandchildren Jacob Parker, Jason Parker, John C. Parker, Joshua Parker, Christian Parrish, Landon Parrish, Kristy Parrish, and Tristan Parrish.
There will be Gathering of Family & Friends on Saturday, April 13, at the Hermitage Funeral Home, from 12pm – 2pm. A Memorial Celebration of Life will begin at 2pm in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Cullom, officiating.
