Mr. Gregory graduated Dupont High School in Old Hickory, Tennessee. At one time, he and his late wife, Linda, owned horses and a small farm in Madison. Mr. Gregory and a friend co-owned a racing car and raced regularly at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville and regularly attended the raceways in Talladega, Alabama and Daytona, Florida. On their trips to Daytona for the races, the family enjoyed time at the beach.
Mr. Gregory was a Machinist for the FORD Glass Plant. In addition to golfing, he was the third baseman for the Hopewell Baseball Team and the FORD Softball team.
Mr. Gregory is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Selton Gregory; his mother, Daisy Elizabeth (Crowder) Gregory; loving wife, Linda Marie Gregory; son, Donnie Lee Gregory; brother, Joe Gregory, Sr.; and grandsons, Jeffrey Michael Brooksher and Daniel Gregory.
Mr. Gregory is survived by his son, Douglas Gregory (Vicky); daughter, Angie Printy (Joe); grandchildren Ashley Brooksher, Douglas Gregory, Jr., David Gregory (Dawn), Donnie Lee Gregory, Jr.; brother, Jimmy Gregory; sister, Janie Gregory; daughter-in-law, Vicky Gregory; brothers-in-law, Ron Nimmo and Richard Nimmo; companion, Betty Hinsley; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10am until 12pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home. Dr. Judson Hays will officiate. Following the Celebration of Life, Mr. Gregory will be laid to rest in the Garden of Faith at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
