He lived a full and happy life and was respected by all who knew him for his unshakable Christian faith. He was a member of Smyrna First Baptist Church, now Lifepoint Church, for about 50 years.
His father was Melvin Wayne Mosley. His mother was Iva Virginia Smith Mosley. He has one brother, Thomas Wayne Mosley living in Seattle, WA.
Dan was happily married to Connie Sue Parham Mosley for fifty-three years. He was proud of his two children and five grandchildren and enjoyed being with them. Their daughter, Sara Lynn Mosley Meredith, married to James Michael Meredith, lives in Nashville, TN and they have three sons: James Isaac Meredith, Cooper Lee Meredith, and Asher Cade Meredith. Our son, Paul Alan Mosley, is married to Kristen Carter Mosley and lives in Winchester, TN. Paul has two children by a previous marriage. They are Harley Chianne Mosley and Jonathan Silas Mosley. Dan was loved by all five of his grandchildren, and provided a good example to them of how to live the Christian life.
Dan attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a Master's Degree in Math and Science. His true love was computer programming. After a few years of teaching, he found his niche in computers at the old Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, TN. He advanced to Firestone/Bridgestone in La Vergne, TN where he worked faithfully seventeen years; then moved to the computer help desk at the TN Farmer's Co-Op in La Vergne.
To give back to his community, he gladly served four years in the U.S. Air Force and twenty three years in the Air Force Guard at Berry Field in Nashville being called up to man the computers in the first Gulf War, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant before he retired.
Dan loved to golf and bowl! He and Connie travelled all over Western Europe for many years. They went on a mission trip to China and walked the Great Wall. They especially enjoyed Israel and sailing on the Sea of Galilee. He truly enjoyed life until Parkinson's slowed his progress.
Loving the Lord Jesus Christ, Dan served as a Deacon, a Gideon distributing Bibles, a teacher in the church wherever the Lord called him to. His was a life well lived as a Christian man. What better tribute can be given?
He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in about 2005. As the disease advanced he fought it bravely and without complaint, until his body was too weak to fight, and the Lord Jesus called him home to his reward on November 22, 2021. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he influenced. Blessed by the name of the Lord!
There will be a graveside service with military honors to be held at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN at a later date.
