Clarence "Buddy" Stone, Jr. Old Hickory, TN Age 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015. Buddy was born to Clarence Stone, Sr. and Nelda White Stone on October 12, 1926, the second of three boys. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended East High School. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie (McKinley) Stone; daughter, Janet Norwood; grandson, Ricky Joe Stem, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Cecilia Norwood and brother, James Stone.He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 61 years, Frances Cato Stone, whom Buddy often referred to as the "wind beneath his wings". He leaves behind 3 devoted children, Linda (Ronnie) Lucarini, Diane (Ricky) Stem, Wes (Amii) Stone and brother, Vernon "Cookie" Stone. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, numerous extended family, and many wonderful friends.Buddy was a Navy veteran of World War II, Co-business owner of Old Hickory Tool and Die, and an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. Buddy was a Christian and an active member of Old Hickory First Baptist Church. Throughout the years, he served the Lord in numerous capacities. His Christian influence and his love for his family and others, his sense of humor, and his zeal for life was evident to all. He leaves a "Legacy of Love" for generations to come. Heaven truly got sweeter. He is gone from this earth, but not forgotten.A funeral service will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Hermitage Funeral Home, with Bro. Jud Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
