Thomas Piedmont Jr., 65, of St. Petersburg Beach Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 27th at the Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL., with his wife by his side. Tom was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and was drafted into the United States Army where he represented his country in Vietnam. After his military service concluded he met his wife Pat on a blind date and was married in 1969. He graduated from Baruch College while starting a 35 year career with The Interpublic Group of Companies where he retired as their SVP, Finance and Administration. Tom also started his own accounting business in Old Bridge NJ that lasted over 30 years. Tom moved his family from Brooklyn to Old Bridge NJ in 1975 where he had three children.
Tom had a passion for his children, his family and friends and he touched so many lives in a positive way. He will be remembered for being a kind and caring person who always gave back.
Tom is survived by his wife of 41 years Patricia, a daughter and son-in-law JoAnn and John Buckley; two sons and their spouses, Thomas Piedmont and partner John Amalfitano and Frank and Samantha Piedmont; two grandchildren Grace Buckley and Frank Piedmont Jr.. He is also survived by his mother Anna Piedmont and one sister, Angela Lopac and her husband George.
Friends may call on Monday, November 1 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy 9, Old Bridge. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 10:30am from St Ambrose RC Church, Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge. Committal will be private.
