Joseph Barbiera

Joseph Barbiera, 79, of Old Bridge, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Alessandria Della Rocca, Italy, he has spent most of his life in Old Bridge.

Mr. Barbiera was a Credit Manager for both Roma Foods in Piscataway and Ferro Foods in Brooklyn. He also was a business man who owned and operated several restaurants and a retail high fashion clothing outlet. His hobbies including playing the trumpet, painting, watching soccer and spending time with his family.

Mr. Barbiera is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vincenza and is also survived by two sons, Vito and his wife Debra of East Brunswick and Frank of Old Bridge; daughter, Ivana of Florence, Italy; sister, Angela of Italy and two grandchildren, Jack and Nicolas.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 8,2015 from 9:00am to 9:45am at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Route 9, Old Bridge, NJ.

A mass will follow at 10:15am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge. Cremation will be private.
