Richard Lewis Foster, 58, of Gardner, Kansas passed away at home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone he knew.
Richard was born on September 4, 1964 in Gardner, Kansas to Robert Lee and Rosalie (Toothman) Foster. He attended and graduated from Olathe High School, and served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a truck driver in the construction industry. Some of his favorite past times were skeet shooting, fishing and watching Kansas City Chiefs football and College (K-State) football and basketball. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his five grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Rochelle Foster Mock who passed away in September of 2016. His wife, Elizabeth Gault Foster, his four children, Chris Foster and his wife Joely of Gardner, Kansas, Justin Foster of Shawnee, Kansas, Heather Starks and her husband Jon Marshall of Gardner, Kansas and Aaron Foster and his wife Payton of Gardner, Kansas survive Richard. Left behind to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, Jesse Starks, Brooklynn Starks, Bentleigh Starks, Gauge Foster and Axel Foster. His brother, Robert Foster II of Olathe, Kansas and his sister, Rebecca Fulbright and her husband Bill of Wellsville, Kansas also survive Richard.
Richard will be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring the life of Richard Lewis Foster will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
