Helen Elizabeth Goolsby, 93, was a Dodge City resident most of her life. She was born August 2, 1924 in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ollie and Mattie Stubblefield. She was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Mother of the Church, and Trustee. She also belonged to Senior Friends of Dodge City, KS. She moved to Olathe, KS in 2009. She became a member of the Second Baptist Church. She loved her family, family gatherings, and was an avid sports fan. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brother T.J. Stubblefield and wife Betty, sons Eugene Moore, Harry Dean Moore and Les Goolsby. Helen leaves to cherish her memory, 2 daughters: Wilda Mae Tonte of Wichita, KS and Beverly Milo and husband Marty of Overland Park, KS; 2 sons: Ernest Goolsby and wife Lori of Wichita, KS, and Charles Goolsby of Englewood, CO, and someone special in her life, Debbie Goolsby. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, several great and great greats as well a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale Hospice for the wonderful care and loving attention they gave to Helen.
A wake will be held on Friday, August 18th from 6-8 pm at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula, Olathe, KS. Funeral services will be at the Second Baptist Church of Olathe, 331 N. Kansas Ave., Olathe, KS with Pastor Bobby Love officiating. Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS 67212.
