Eleanore Chesney

Eleanore Colleen Chesney, 91, of Olathe, KS, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 7, 2024.She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to everyone she knew.

Eleanore was born on January 10, 1933 in Olathe, KS to Elmer Hannon and Marjorie Hannon. Eleanore attended and graduated from St. John Memorial High School. She was a homemaker for 15 years and then worked for the Johnson County Assessor's Office for 15 years.

She met the love of her life George Chesney and they were married on June 24, 1951. Together they raised their four children Steve, Stephanie, Scott and Shane. She enjoyed spending holidays and special occasions with her family and nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Eleanore is preceded in death by her loving husband George, her parents, son Scott Chesney, and her brothers Richard and Jim Hannon. Survivors include her children, Steve Chesney and his wife Pat of Olathe, KS, Stephanie Chesney of Clermont, Florida and Shane Chesney and his wife Barb of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by her brother David Hannon and wife Cheri of Overland Park, sister Elaine Hodges and husband Dan of Olathe, KS. Left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 10 AM-11 AM followed by a memorial service at 11 AM-noon on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at First Baptist church of Olathe 2024 East 151st St., Olathe, KS. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the memorial service.
