He was born on January 30, 1950 in Kansas City, MO to the late Robert Maurice Egan and Margaret Ann (Whalen) Egan.
Ed was preceded in death by parents Margaret and Robert Maurice Egan, brother Thomas Edward Egan; and brothers-in-law Gary Strong, Christopher Cummins, and Gerald Paul Donegan.
Edward is survived by wife of 48 years, Julie Ann Egan; three children Edward Egan II (Kitti), Elaine Carson (Tobias), and Sean Egan; grandchildren Brooke, Tessa, Genevieve, Holden and Aleah; siblings James Egan (Jeanne), Margaret “Suggie” Egan (Greg Seraphine), Cookie Egan Sparks, Bill Egan (Debbie); in-laws Eileen Strong, William Donegan (Maureen), Marianne Cummins, Frank Donegan (Kathy), Mark Donegan (Tanya), Debra Donegan, and Bryan Donegan (Rashel); numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 10-11am Friday, March 4, 2022 at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home with a Rosary at 11:10 and prayer service at 11:30 on Friday followed by interment at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
