Deborah Kay Beets, 67, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on July 26, 2023. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she knew. Deborah was born on August 16, 1955 in Stroud, Oklahoma to E.T. and Doris Lee (Clark) Cornelius. She attended and graduated from Washington High School in Fremont, California.
She met the love of her life Brian Beets and they were married on September 13, 1995. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Evergreen Nursing Home for twenty-eight years. She was recognized and awarded every year for never missing a day’s work. She also worked hard as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Deborah enjoyed traveling with her husband Brian; together they spent many trips to the sandy beaches in Mexico and enjoyed watching the sunset over the ocean. She also enjoyed gardening, antiques, estate sales, garage sales and going to the movies along with watching the Kansas City Royals play baseball and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Her parents E.T. and Doris Cornelius and her stepmother Ila Lee Cornelius precede Deborah in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years Brian Beets, son Jason Walling of Kansas City, Missouri and her two daughters Nickie Brandburg of Huntingtin Beach, California and Alicia Beets of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two grandchildren Cody Brandburg and Jaden Brandburg. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters Kerry Twa and her companion Gary Hazelton of Bemidji, Minnesota and Cleota Lovell and her husband Mike of Dacono, Colorado. Deborah also leaves behind her two nieces Candice Hemenway of Hibbing, Minnesota , Regina Sidoti and nephew Gregory Sidoti.
