Carol Sue Davis, 74, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 17, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Carol was born on October 14, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Daniel Ross and Rose Margaret (Bauer) Dice. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She worked as a volunteer for the Lenexa Senior Center. Where she served as President from 2015-2020. She was an avid seamstress and quilter. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the time she spent spoiling her nieces and nephews. Carol also enjoyed playing cards, dominos, crocheting, embroidery, the color purple and country music. She will be sadly missed as someone who was open minded and a good listener.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed Davis who passed away in 2002, stepdaughter Kimberly Ann Davis, grandson Chad McMillin, three brothers; D.J. Dice, Bob Dice and Mike Dice, sister-in-law Barbara Dice, brother-in-law Barney Smith, nephew Stephen P. Dice, niece Sarah Smith and niece Ashlie Dice.
She is survived by her two step-children; Jason T. Davis and Tonya L. Davis, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her brother Steve Dice and his wife Debra of LaCygne, Kansas and sister, Rosemary Smith of Osawatomie, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews; Skipper Smith, Johnny Smith, Mark Smith (Melanie), Loretta Glenn, David Dice(Mauren), Jimmy Dice(Sarah), Larry Dice, Robin Robinson (Mitch), Danny Dice (Jennifer), Pamela Coppola (Tony), Scott Dice (Sarah), Teddy Dice, Terry Dice (Denise), David Dice (Melissa), Rosemary Swanson (Keith), Mary Beth Rivera (Oscar), Michelle Francis (Justin), Becki Dice, Jennifer Williams (David), Travis Carpenter, forty-seven great nieces and nephews and thirteen great-great nieces/nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Burial in Old Monticello Cemetery at 73rd Terrace and Brockway Shawnee, Kansas Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. March 24th after the funeral service at the funeral home.
