Our father, William Gilbert Russell, passed away February 16, 2012. He was born in Hydro, Oklahoma on December 21, 1925 to Onnie and Opal Russell. After graduating from Fulton High School in Kansas, he served as a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Tinker Field in 1978 after 30 years of employment and continued to work until he was over 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mable Louise Russell. Survivors include one son, Allen Eugene Russell of Livingston, MT; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Hutcherson and husband Jack of Tuttle, OK, and Cynthia Louise Thoma of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandchildren Sara Ashley Thoma and special friend Ezra Wheeler and David William Russell and wife Lacie of Mustang, OK; as well of six great-grandchildren. Bill Russell was the best father, grandfather, and great grandfather any children could wish for. He was also a wonderful friend to many people. Dad was blessed to have a special friendship with Bill and Terry Taylor and for that we are thankful. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation for the respect and loving attention given to our family by Doctors Geister, Aly, and Fraley; Integris Hospice and the home health care providers of Encompass. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 8:00a.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City, OK.
