Verna G. Simmons, 87 year-old resident of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away March 6, 2012 in Meeker, Oklahoma. Born August 7, 1924 in Weatherford, Texas, she was the daughter of Floyd Orval Garrison and Laura Jane Hurst Garrison. Verna was a keypunch supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base for many years. Survivors include her son, Joel Simmons of Meeker, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held later this spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
