Tyler “Ty” William Hughes passed away Monday, May 11th, 2020 at the age of 22. He was born to Bonnie and Bobby Hughes on May 29th, 1997, in Oklahoma City. Ty graduated from Jones High School in 2016. Ty had a dedication and love for all sports, but he had a special love for football. “T-Bone” was a force to be reckoned with on the field but was loved by his teammates, coaches and even some of his opponents. Though fierce on the field, he was always generous with his time and heart. He enjoyed making others smile and laugh. His personality was even bigger than he was.
Ty is survived by his parents; Bonnie and Bobby Hughes, sister, Shelby Salazar, brother-in-law, Eric Salazar and beloved niece, Gabriella Grace, grandparents; Nancy Sonleitner, Frank Sonleitner and Molly Roberts, aunts and uncles; Cathy and Matt Wilson, Carol and Ray Upp, Noverta and Larry Dean, and Beck Taylor along with multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by grandparents; Betty and Bill Hughes and Roy Gober, and cousin, Wayne Davis.
Ty found comfort and inspiration in his Christian faith. He was loved deeply by his family and friends and his loss will be felt by many.
Viewing will be on Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th from 8 am to 8 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral will be a private family service at 10:00 am on Monday May 18th at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with Internment following at the Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 11:30 am.
