Tamara "Tammy" Suzanne Bickford-Lenox

Tammy was a long-time resident of Edmond, Oklahoma. She was active in Toastmasters and volunteered her time to mental health organizations: DBSA (Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance), serving as Vice President and Board President; NAMI Oklahoma (National Alliance on Mental Illness), 2007-2009. Her drive was to bring mental health awareness to light, and demonstrated so, by acting as a facilitator, leader and teacher for conferences and symposiums.

She attended the University of Central Oklahoma, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Community Health (1992), which carried her through administrative positions in higher education and other professional occupations. Her passion for learning earned UCO Presidents and/or Dean's Honor Roll five times. Tammy was especially proud of her Kappa Delta Phi (International Honor Society in Education) honors, 1992, 1993 & 1994, as well as being the recipient of the Jackie McCallum Award Finalist as Outstanding Senior in Community Health, 1992.

She graduated 1979, from Shawnee High School, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Tammy was active in band and discovered her passion for playing the flute and piccolo, which she enjoyed throughout her life. She received the honor of attending Girls State, along with other academic achievements.

Tammy had a beautiful spirit and kind heart, which she exemplified by loving her family and helping others. Her Christian relationship with God and her everlasting faith was deeply rooted in her heart and values. She was a spiritual woman who enjoyed reading her bible and sharing scriptures. Among the love she had for education & learning, she enjoyed all types of crafts: painting, ceramics, making preserves, jewelry making, tending to her flower garden, and sewing. Music was always a huge passion of Tammy’s and brought her deep joy, especially the classics of Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. The greatest love of her life, without-a-doubt, was the love she had for her two daughters, Amanda, and Rachel. She would glow with love and pride any chance she had to “mom brag.” Tammy was married to Robert Lenox, Tulsa, Ok. Her second marriage was to Ron Williams, Edmond, OK.

Joining her in heaven is her mother, Donna C. Bickford-Davis, grandparents, Henry C. and Nancy Lucile Minton-Jones, grandparents, Joe and Vera Bickford, and infant sister, Twila Bickford.

Tammy is survived by her two daughters: Amanda S. Lenox, Edmond, OK, and Rachel M. Lenox, Oklahoma City, OK; Father, Paul A. Bickford and wife, Helen, Bella Vista, AR; Mother’s husband, Richard Prawdzienski, Edmond, OK. Siblings: Rebecca E. Bickford-Davis and husband, Bill, Springdale, AR; Dianna C. Best-Miller, Edmond, OK; Christopher P. Bickford and wife Karen Bagne, daughters, Cora and Lucy, Gambier, OH; Niece, Erika K. Best-Hodges and husband Bryan, children Adam, Isaac and Matthew, Edmond, OK.; Nephew, Gavin J. Best and wife Alexa, Mustang, OK; Aunts: Jo Sharon Bickford-Richardson and husband, O.V., Oklahoma City, OK; Susie Bickford-Cross and husband Jim, Rocklin, CA.

Special gratitude to the doctors and nurses with Integris, Edmond, OK, who worked tirelessly, caring for Tammy. And thank you, Chaplin Larry, for your support, prayers, and guidance.
