Tamara Dawn Talbot

Tamara Dawn Talbot (Wallis) was born August 28th, 1962 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. She grew up in the Spencer/Nicoma Park area and graduated from Choctaw high school. Tamara, (Tamie), passed away on February 15th, 2024 surrounded by those who loved her, after a brief battle with lung cancer.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Trella Sagers, her Father, Jerry Sampson, her grandparents Jesse and Bernice Wallis, and numerous other family members who were taken way too soon. She is survived by her life partner, Billy Ooten of Oklahoma City, daughter Kyla Loggins and family of Oklahoma City, daughter Kimberly McCutcheon and her family of Newalla, son Cory Watts and family of Shawnee, her 6 sisters Arla Power of Oregon City, OR, Mischelle Mullen of Jones, Ok, and Kaye Mullen of Harrah, Ok, Lori Drummond Burris and family of Arkansas, Debie Drummond Linde and family of Missouri, Sue Drummond and family, 1 brother, Forrest Drummond and family, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who loved her very much.

Tamie was a hard worker. She had the heart of a servant and always made sure that others were taken care of and had what they needed. So much so, that she would center her professional career around customer service. Tamie was a homemaker, a server, a cashier, a housekeeper, a manager, and a courier throughout her working life just to name a few of the hats she wore.

In fact, working one of these jobs is where she met Tony Watts with whom she would grow her family by having her daughter Kyla, and become a bonus mom to her two children Kim and Cory. Tamie and Tony also shared the experience of becoming first-time grandparents together. She would later add extended family with her second marriage to Kenny Talbot before meeting the love of her life Billy Ooten with whom she got to share the experience of becoming great-grandparents.

Tamie was a vivacious woman. If she had an opinion…you knew it! She loved her trucks almost if not as much as her children. She loves to travel…mainly to warm sunny beaches. Aruba, at the beach with Billy was her place of Zen. She talked of wanting to go to Salem to relive the history of the witch trials but unfortunately got too sick before she had the chance.

Tamie loved to play games. Cards, anything with dice or dominoes were her forte. In fact, one of her favorite memories she shared was playing those types of games with her aunts while growing up. She said aunt Tanna would always hit you harder than anyone else when you played spoons with her. Another was teaching her granddaughter KyLynn how to play Mexican train dominoes…KyLynn took it upon herself to learn how to cheat.

Tamie talked about how she and her sisters were always getting into trouble all of the time. With 4 girls as teenagers all at the same time you can only imagine the things they would get into. Since Tamie was the eldest, she was always the “mom” of the group, taking care of her younger sisters. Arla, Kaye and Mischelle I'm sure have many stories to tell. Tamie only learned of her sisters Debi, Lori and Sue, along with brother Forrest in the last couple of years. One of her greatest moments was getting to meet them she shared.

Tamie became a mother at 25…the same age her daughter Kyla became a mother and made her a grandmother. We all know how much Tamie loved her football and some of her fondest memories as a Maw Maw were watching games with her granddaughter KyLynn. When she was little, KyLynn would shout “19, 40…get em get em get em!” as soon as they snapped the ball. She also learned the catch phrase of Tamie’s favorite team… and would repeat “who sat?!” when her maw maw would ask.

Tamie said that some of her favorite times as a mother were when Kyla and her Friend Dezirrae would dress up in her high heels and make up and do “performances,” whether by singing or dancing in the living room. She also loved when she, Ashley Nicole, and Kyla would listen to her gangster rap and “truck dance” anytime they went anywhere.

Tamie was so proud of her accomplishments and she has many. She said that she was most proud of her daughter whom she often referred to as her greatest accomplishment in life. Tamie loved her daughter and granddaughter tremendously and lovingly called Kyla her pride and KyLynn her joy.

When asked how she would like to be remembered Tamie responded with well, idk…but they'll probably start out with “This Crazy Bitch” anytime they recall a story about me, and she seemed to be just fine with that.

Tamie was an incredible woman who worked diligently, loved fiercely, and left us far too soon. She is loved by many and is already missed more than words can describe.

A visitation for Tamara will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A memorial service will occur Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Dewayne Standridge, Mack Mccutcheon, Cory Watts, Kylon Watts, Kenny Talbot and Jared Loggins.
