Ruby Mae Jones was born Ruby Mae Jackson in Wanette, Oklahoma on November 19, 1922, to John and Mary (Doss) Jackson. She went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2017, at the age of 94. Ruby Mae was the youngest of five sisters and one brother. Ruby Mae Jackson and Joe Morris Jones were married in Wanette, Oklahoma on October 24, 1944, and they remained married until his death on December 15, 1992. Ruby and Joe lived in Shawnee during the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Midwest City in 1959. Ruby lived in Midwest City for most of her life. In 2012, she moved to Shawnee to live with her daughter, where she stayed until she moved to Wellington Parke in 2015 due to declining health. Ruby Mae was a faithful member of the Ridgecrest Church of Christ in Midwest City for over 50 years. When she moved in with her daughter, she started attending the First Baptist Church of Newalla. She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and we know she is in Heaven now with Joe and her son Richard and all of her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ruby was a wonderful cook and she loved cooking; it was one way she expressed love to her family. She cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the whole family for many years until her age prevented her from doing the cooking. Ruby loved working crossword puzzles and reading, especially romance novels. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Joe Morris Jones and her son, Richard Allen Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brother Ralph Jackson and five sisters, Jesse Arnold, Lucille Black, Evelyn Brown, Margaret Bryant, and Lois Mantooth. She is survived by her daughter, Farilyn Ballard and son-in-law Dan; grandson, Chris Jones and his wife Kelli; granddaughters, Keisha Jones and her husband David; and Lucia Walker and her husband Britt. She also has eleven great-grandchildren, Meadow, Cayman and Laken Jones; Kristian, Julian, Gabriel, Vivian and Madelyn Jones; Lyla, Halle, and Nash Walker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73141 with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to both Wellington Parke and Humanity Hospice for their excellent and loving care given to Ruby.
