Ron graduated high school from Faribault Minnesota High School in June of 1960. After graduation, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy, where he studied missiles and electronics. During Ron’s life, he lived in multiple places in the United States. In March 1974, he left Faribault, MN and moved to Northfield, MN, where he resided until January 1981. He then moved to Mesa, Arizona until 2014 then traveled to Farmington, New Mexico until June 2022 before finally settling in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ronald enjoyed an array of things such as rock music crossing multiple decades, having a good laugh from a comedy movie, camping and fishing, and remodeling houses. Something Ronald truly loved doing was spending time with his family. A good day to him was being able to spend time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Ron loved spending time with his sons while they were in the Boy Scouts. Ron achieved personal and professional accomplishments in his life; he obtained three patents in the electronics field and became a fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was also a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic Church.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Violet Tupa, siblings Donald Lawrence Tupa, Michael Albert Tupa, Kathryn Emily Elizabeth Roloff, and brothers-in-law Michael Thompson and Carl Roloff.
Ron’s life and legacy will continue through his wife of nearly 50 years Gretchen Yvonne Tupa, children Gregory Ronald Tupa and wife, Barb Garver of Alden, MN, Lisa Marie Tupa of Denver, CO, Brian Scott Tupa and wife, Lascania “Elecia” (Brown) of Sparkman, AK, Sherry Ann Tupa of Boone, IA, Jason Aaron Tupa and wife, Stephanie of Mesa, AZ, Shane Patrick Tupa of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jacob McMahon and wife, Elisha of Murfreesboro, TN; siblings Patricia Ann Tupa Thompson of Faribault, MN, Suzanne Malecha-Greeley of Faribault, MN, sisters-in-law, Betty (David) of Faribault, MN, Alma Boudine of Faribault, MN; grandchildren, Heather Beth and Paul Schmitz, Joshua Gregory Tupa and Ashley, Kristen Sarah Tupa and Rob Culbertson, Nicole Montgomery, Tasha Montgomery, Mary Montgomery, Lane Tupa, Codie Jo Tupa, Nia Tupa, Ryder Luzzadder, Raylee Luzzadder, Rory Alexander, Anneliese Tupa, Hannah Tupa, McKinzey Toye- Tupa, Hayden Tupa, McKayla Tupa, Logan McMahon, Carter McMahon, sixteen great-grandchildren, ten nieces, nine nephews, and fur babies Peanut, Otis, Athena, Atlas, Jax, Zeus, and Merida.
Services for Ron will be at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162, on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Fort Sill, Oklahoma at a later date.
