Robert Lippert, Christian, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend passed away surrounded by family, after a brief illness, on Monday, March 25, 2024 in Oklahoma City. He was born October 19, 1960 to Robert L. and Naomi Lippert and joined his three sisters, Barbara Munneke, Teresa Schardt and Linda Alaback. Robert’s childhood was fun for them all. He learned how to lay brick at a neighbor’s house when he was only five or six years old. His baseball practices and games were an all-family event, as was eating afterwards with the team and other families at Sammy’s Grill. He had the kindest coaches, Mr.Campbell and Mr.Lout, and formed lifelong friendships with his teammates.
Robert attended James Monroe Elementary and then Heritage Hall. He has many loyal friends from those days. If we said, “BOOMER,” you’d know where he earned his degree in Construction Science. He was blessed to have been married to Linda Harris for fourteen years during which they had three children: Blake, Tori and Laura. Each child exhibits wonderful unique traits of their Dad – ALL carry his faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior; the faith that was actualized face to face on Monday.
As his children grew, some of their favorite memories of their Dad include learning how to tie their shoes, riding a bike, bowling, how to drive aggressively, snow and water skiing, and how to operate, trailer and tow a boat. They also enjoyed attending football and baseball games together. Most of Robert’s happiest and most cherished memories with his kids were spent at Lake Tenkiller. Robert welcomed all the kids, many cousins and friends as part of the family. Robert will be remembered for his patience and kindness with the kids and their cousins/friends even when things didn't go as planned as things sometimes don’t at the lake. He felt it important to share his life experiences and knowledge with them, whether they wanted to hear it or not. Robert was not merely the chaperone, he brought the fun!! “Paradise Hill” at Lake Tenkiller holds many dear memories shared with their Dad and his children are at peace knowing he is now resting in the ultimate paradise.
Robert grew up in construction and loved all aspects of it. He got his start at Lippert Brothers Construction and spent most of his career at Benham Group. Projects took him to Russia, Mexico and across the United States. He served as Project Manager and Estimator. He would be over the top as low bidder and everyone would soon hear about it.
Robert is survived by his three children, Blake Lippert and partner Gregory Neff, Tori (Myles) Kristof and their children Kennedy, Khloe and Kruz, Laura (Parker) Rittenberry, and their children Jax and Price, along with his three sisters, Barbara (John) Munneke, Linda (David) Alaback, and Teresa (Marty) Schardt. Rob was blessed with many cousins and their next generations. He loved his huge extended family.
Robert became a Christ follower as a child. Even as he faced difficulties in his life his faith was unwavering. It is with great thanksgiving to God that he has been set free from the challenges he continued to face. He has now received his crown of life in heaven. Thanks be to God.
Memorials may be made to water4.org The memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, at 1:00pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City.
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to Thee.
God wanted me now; HE SET ME FREE!
