Robert Ketchell Hamlin, known as RK to many, was called home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2015 in Yukon, OK. RK was born on September 21, 1935 to his parents Reno “Ketchell” and Lucille Hamlin, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was raised in Okmulgee, OK where he was a member of First Christian Church of Okmulgee. He attended The University of Oklahoma where he was a proud member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He decided to continue his education at Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, OK). He went on to join the Army Reserves where he proudly served six years. He was best known for his radio voice to which he was a disk jockey for several radio stations the most famous one being KOMA. After hanging up his radio voice he moved on to pharmaceuticals sales for 20+ years and then insurance sales where he later retired from. Robert was a devout Christian that lived his life everyday as Jesus would want him to. Survivors include, Anna Yarbrough (Yukon, OK), Mark Hamlin and his wife Talara (Moore, OK), and Sara Meiron and husband Thomas (Key Largo, FL). Grandchildren, Joshua Barger and wife Di (OKC, OK), Annica Strotter (Yukon, OK), Nicholas Meiron, Olivia Meiron, Nathan Meiron, (Key Largo, FL) Pierson Hamlin and Mari Hamlin (Moore, OK) and one great-grandaughter, Raelyn Williams. But was known as “Papa” to many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren especially Glen and Shelton Clemons and Tyrell Johnson. Nieces Marjel Whitmore and husband Dave (Bellevue, NE) and Priscilla Cardenas and husband Tim (Bellevue, NE). Along with several great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother Ronald Hamlin and life- long best friend and mother of his children Mary Alice Black.
