Robert Gerald “Gerry” Craft, born on October 14, 1935, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Gerry was born in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, grew up in Pryor, Oklahoma, but was a longtime resident of Jones, Oklahoma. Gerry was highly involved in sports in high school. He played basketball, baseball, ran track and played football- he was an All Conference player. Gerry was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. There he played football, wrestled and met his wife, LaNese in 1955. They married on January 20, 1957 and soon after their marriage, he entered the ministry, created the Gerry Craft Youth Association, and received his Master’s in Theology. Gerry was a devoted husband and loving father- even taking the roles of Little League Baseball/Football Coach.
He is survived by his sons, Cody Craft of Jones, Oklahoma, and Cassady Craft of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister, Linda; his brother, Jack; numerous nieces and nephews; his daughter-in-law Noor; and his grandchildren Hannah, Caladan, and Kasey. Gerry was predeceased by his wife LaNese and by his parents, Jessie Fay Craft and Juanita Beatrice Craft.
A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
