He was preceded in death by Ramona, his beautiful wife of 75 years, his parents Henry and Bessie Howell, and sister Emma Collins.
Ramona’s family became his family in every sense of the word; their love and support was beyond measure.
Another family had “adopted” Frank, and that was his Sunday School class at Putnam City Baptist Church, called the Bereans. Their kindness, home and hospital visits, delicious food and prayers became his beloved support group.
Frank was a veteran, having served his Country in World War II. After returning home from the war, he spent some years working in the oil field and oil field supply. Frank had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at ten years of age and in his late twenties, he was baptized and surrendered his life to preach the Gospel. He pastored two churches in Okmulgee before moving to Oklahoma City in 1966 to pastor Sunnymeade Baptist Church. He faithfully served there for 25 years. After retirement, he would preach or teach at every opportunity, sharing God’s Word and inviting others to accept Jesus into their heart and life. Preaching God’s Word was his passion, however, teaching verse by verse, “feeding the flock,” was his joy. He read and studied tirelessly; he would share what he learned with anyone that would listen.
Because of the COVID situation, there will be no funeral service. Instead, we ask everyone to please stay home and be safe and well.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations to Putnam City Baptist Church. This is where Frank attended every Sunday, until he couldn’t. The mailing address is: 11401 N. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73162
