Raymond Gary Arnold passed away on June 4, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in Binghamton, New York, on January 9, 1948, to parents Lloyd Arnold and Sue Arnold. Raymond graduated from high school in Montrose, Pennsylvania, then went on to attend Vo-Tech, where he learned to become a mechanic for foreign cars. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Arnold, on April 8, 1978. Raymond survived many things through the years, yet his greatest achievements were the faithfulness of his 46-year marriage to his beloved wife and the charming, kind daughter they raised together.
Raymond spent his early adults’ years as a mechanic, following his service in Vietnam. Later, he continued to proudly serve his country as a machinist at Tinker Air Force Base, making parts for airplane engines.
He enjoyed joking around with everyone, traveling, watching western movies and TV shows, and sharing those he loved with people around him. Spending time with his family, especially his wife, daughter, and furry grandpuppies. Raymond also found enjoyment in working on cars and pottering in the shop that was in his backyard.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Carolyn Arnold of Choctaw, Oklahoma; daughters Raelyn Arnold of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Pixie Chesney of Edmond, Oklahoma; and grandpuppy Bella Rose.
He is happy to be in heaven with his grandpuppies Scooter, Mistery, Cupcake, Sassy, & Rusty.
Raymond was a great man full of laughter and joy, always willing to give his last dime, time in an overfull schedule, or the very shirt off his back to someone in need. He adopted anyone who came through the door as his very own family, teasing and joking them into laughter and making space in his giant heart to love them. But no one quite held so dear a place in his heart as the wife he always saw, as the beautiful young woman he married. They offered each other tender care, compassionate love, and mutual pride and joy in life and parenthood. He will be deeply missed, but even in our grief, we celebrate his freedom from pain and the clouds of Alzheimer’s.
