Natalie Joan McKinnon

Natalie was born in Oklahoma City to Alice and Noble James Barnett. She attended Wilson Elementary School and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1952 where she was a member of the Key Club and the Kiltie Band. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of the time she spent on the family farm in Hydro with her grandparents, aunts and cousins. Natalie was married to Alexander Howard McKinnon for 42 years until his death in 2006. Natalie and Alex worked for The Kerr-McGee Corporation for many years and enjoyed participating in the KMERA talent shows where Natalie performed as a dancer and Alex performed stand-up comedy. They were also avid bowlers and were members of the company bowling league. Natalie and Alex also enjoyed performing with a local Scottish country dance group and accompanying their daughters to Scottish highland dance competitions around the country. After retirement they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Natalie was a long-time member of the service sorority, Beta Sigma Phi and was also active for many years with the Oklahoma Hospitality Club, serving a term as president. Natalie will be remembered by many as a loyal and caring friend who was known for her sweet cards and notes of encouragement. She was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. Natalie is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Armstrong and husband, Jeffrey and Susan Clark and husband, Robert of Oklahoma City and three grandchildren, Courtney Clark and Haley Clark of Dallas, Texas and Robert Clark III of New York City and numerous beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dallas Cody Barnett. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2p.m., Friday, May 20 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel, 6600 Broadway Extension in Oklahoma City.
