Mattie Jo Pruitt entered into this world as the 13th child of W.L. and Dollie Waddle on a farm near Lexington, OK on July 2, 1922. She spent most of her young life attending school at Spring Hill Schoolhouse and caring for the animals (many of which were adopted by her) on the farm alongside her father. She left home at 18 to work as a housekeeper and then a waitress in the town of Lexington where she met Elwood H. Pruitt, her future husband. She would follow him all over the country during W.W.II and afterwards would settle down in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in their 1st home where she would remain the rest of her days on this earth. She worked many jobs during her lifetime, but would settle down at Continental Baking Company where she worked for 29 years before retiring. She loved keeping busy around the house, attending church at Portland Avenue Baptist and caring for her various animals. She would be seen walking her dog around the neighborhood many evenings and would greet anyone who crossed her path. She was welcomed into Heaven on March 21, 2013 by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, along with many friends and family after her lengthily illness. Ms. Pruitt is survived by her daughter, Kathy Harmon of the home; grandsons Tim, Danny and wife Monica, and Joey; and many friends. She was a loving and friendly person to all she knew and especially loved all of God’s creatures. We will miss her greatly but look forward to seeing her again. Family wishes to thank many who cared for her at Belleview Rehab. and Integris Baptist Medical Center and Integris Medical Center in Edmond, Oklahoma
