Martha A. White, 83, passed away on May 7, 2011 in Oklahoma City. Martha was born February 22, 1928 in Kaw City, Oklahoma to Ruth and John Helt. She graduated from High School in Great Bend, Kansas in 1945. In November of 1946, Martha married Ralph K. White and to this marriage were born three children; Kenneth, Richard and Karen. Martha was very generous toward others and was a donator to many charities and organizations. Martha was on a bowling league, enjoyed antiquing and also wrote her own poetry. She will be remembered for her fantastic story-telling and her never ending whit of jokes. Martha owned a beauty salon, worked as a secretary at Deaconess Hospital, and until her retirement worked for DHS. Surviving Martha are her two grandchildren; Patrick White and Kathryn Thacker, daughter-in-law Janis White and son-in-law Steve Melville, as well as many nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, as well as all three children, Kenneth, Richard and Karen. Also preceding her in death are sisters Laura Helt, Nellie Helt, Betty Cortez, and brothers George Helt, Jimmy Helt and Bob Helt. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Martha’s honor to a charity of choice. Services will be held, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 8:00a-8:00p, Tuesday, May 10th.
