Martha Ward

Martha Marie Ward was born on August 14, 1923 in what is now Nichols Hills, Oklahoma and died on January 27, 2014 at her home in Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Albert and Bertha Meyers; brothers, Gerald and Lester Meyers; and husbands, Charles Nightingale, Clint Ward and Jim Ward. She is survived by her sister, Annie Ercole; sons, Charles and David Nightingale; daughter, Wanda Ward; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Martha Ward worked and taught in the nursing profession for over forty five years, retiring in 1989. Martha believed that God had blessed, guided and protected her throughout her life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church as were all her children. Martha was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, a mission church started in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1962, where she was active and faithfully attended. Funeral services will held at her church at 10:00 Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to her church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 3- 8 pm at Guardian West Funeral Home.
