Martha Irene Bynum

Martha Irene Bynum, was born in Wellston, Oklahoma on July 19, 1928. She was born to her parents Homer Fetner and Altha (Burch) Fetner. She graduated from Wellston High School. Irene married Jessie C. Bynum on February 1, 1946. Martha Irene left this earth to join her Lord on January 17, 2022 at the age of 93. She passed away at the Hospice House in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Martha loved her Blue Grass Music and all of the friends she made there. Irene also collected thimbles and dolls. She was loved by everyone that met her. In the evenings she watched Thunder basketball and did her needlepoint making pillow cases. Mom gave her pillow cases to all of her kids and to many of her friends. She studied her Bible and was a true Christian. Her favorite places to go were Branson, Missouri and Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Martha had several jobs outside of the home. Her main job was raising 6 children. She was a loving wife, loving mother, a loving grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.

Martha is preceded in death by her by her husband, Jessie C. Bynum on August 8, 1998; her daughter, Loretta Stokes on September 9, 2021; her sister, Louise Hodde; sister, Ella Mae Fetner; and her brother, William Fetner.

She leaves behind her daughters, Carol Butts and Lois Shipp; and sons, Jesse Bynum, Jimmy Bynum and Kenny Bynum. Martha Irene was also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
