Our mom was born June 28, 1923, to Jerry and Winnie Jayroe in Palestine, Arkansas, the oldest of thirteen children. Mom and dad were married April 18, 1942, while dad was home on leave from the army. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1945 when dad was discharged eventually settling in the Deer Creek community west of Edmond, where we were raised. Mom was very active in all of our school activities, managed the Deer Creek School Cafeteria for ten years and volunteered at Baptist Hospital for 30 years. She was the greatest mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law anyone could have ever had. Mom was preceded in death by her two parents, beloved husband of 56 years Wilburn A. Singer, brothers, James, Cecil, Buddy and Billy Jayroe and sister, Betty Jo Dover. Mom is survived by children; Ann and husband, Bob Bowman, Linda and husband, Pat Keefe and Mark Singer, grandson, Bart Looper and great-grandsons, Bryce, Griffin and Jaxson Looper, brother Johnny Jayroe and wife, Rita and sisters, Louise Tracy, Alice Adams and Jean and husband Raymond Billingsley. She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews. Our mother was a true, southern lady.
