She was born August 4, 1950, to Hilmar “Swede” and Billie Jo Anderson, and graduated from Northwest Classen High School. Karen went on to obtain an associate degree in nursing from Oklahoma City Community College and her LPN from the Oklahoma City School of Practical Nursing.
Karen dedicated her life to serving others through as a Registered Nurse. She began her career working in the operating rooms at Baptist Medical Center before joining the team at Samaritan Home Care. She returned to Baptist Medical Center under Integris Health. Karen had been working for Select Specialty Hospital for more than 17 years at the time of her passing.
In her free time, Karen enjoyed traveling with her best friends, visiting the coolest local spots, and being the life of the party.
Karen is preceded in death by her soulmate Jack Cunningham, relatives Al Moore, Jill Tarver and numerous other family and lifelong friends. She is survived by her cousins Pam Kaylor, Jessica Wolf (Brad), Daryl Williams (Joann), her tribe and countless friends and coworkers.
A visitation for Karen will be held Tuesday, December 12, from 4:00-8:00pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A celebration of life will take place Wednesday, December 13, at 10:00am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
