Joe A. Bradley

Joe Allen Bradley, 69, died March 5, 2016 at his home in Yukon. Mr. Bradley was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Joe was born October 19, 1946 in Madill, Oklahoma to Joe F. Bradley and Bernice M. (Baumeister) Bradley. In his early life, he lived at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill where his father worked as a funeral director. His family moved from Madill to Seattle, Washington in 1962 where he attended Shoreline High School. After a year, the family moved back to Oklahoma City where family lived and he graduated from Putnam City High School in 1964. While there he was active in football and track. He married Carolyn J. Foral in 1969. The two shared almost 47 years together before his death. Joe was outgoing and known to make friends quick. He was easy going, friendly, and greeted everyone he knew with a nickname, smile and often one of his big bear hugs. One of his defining characteristics was his big belly laugh. He and Carolyn lived in northwest Oklahoma City with their two children until moving to Yukon in 1986. Joe was active with the Yukon Soccer Club where he coached several boys’ teams. As a professional, he worked and retired from Lucent Technologies after 38 years of service. He started at the plant in 1968 when it was Western Electric and served on the Executive Board in the IBEW union. He was a proud union member and made several life long friends during his time there. After retirement, his interests included fishing, watching soccer, stereos, cooking, spending time with his dog Pups and cat Skeeter, catching up with friends, and talking cars especially Corvettes with friends. Joe is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home, son, Joe Ryan Bradley and wife Julie Rose Bradley of Weatherford, daughter, Alanna Bradley from Yukon, and two grandchildren, Joe Robert Bradley and Jaden Bradley. Also, sister Priscilla (Bradley) Stagner and husband Guy of OKC, nephew, Kevin Stagner of OKC, and niece Amanda Stagner Shouse and her family of Grove, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home at 8701 NW Expressway, OKC, OK on Thursday, March 10 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Heart Association (https://donatenow.heart.org/) or the American Diabetes Association (http://www.diabetes.org/).
