Jerry Lee Hogue

Hello, it’s me Jerry Lee Hogue. If you’re reading this, it means the mechanic has dropped the wrench. My engine light came on with a diagnosis of cancer and this time I was unable to fix it. I fought a good fight and passed away peacefully in my home on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age of 77 years old.

First with the facts. I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Irene Sanderson Hogue and Andrew Lee Gwatney. I was eventually adopted by my stepfather Bill Hogue. I attended Mena High School and graduated from El Paso High School. I worked for Tinker Air Force for 15 years and then retired and started my own mechanic business called Hogue Automotive for 40 years. I met a lot of great friends through my business who are near and dear to me.

I want all my family and friends to know I love you. Please do not be sad now that I am gone. Just know when you hear a car sputter, that is just me letting you know I am here until we meet again.

Preceded in death by my parents, Bill and Irene Hogue and my younger siblings, Tommy Hogue, Rusty Hogue, and Darla Turner.

Survived by my loving wife of 55 years, Connie Hogue; daughter, Debi Pickren and son-in-law, Marc Pickren; daughter, Lori Hogue; grandchildren, Julia Pickren, Danielle Hogue and James Pickren. Along with many family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Westside Christian Church, 10145 N.W. Expressway, Yukon, OK 73099.
