Jamie Diane Davis Leach was born in Oklahoma City, OK on May 16, 1960 to James D. and Elda Davis. She died on January 26, 2022 at her home in Edmond after a two year fight against cancer. However, her life was much more than her cancer battle. Jamie was a devoted wife, loving mother, a Christian attending Life Church in Oklahoma City, a volunteer, a hard worker, a gardener, and an adventurous soul.
Jamie graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1978 and attended Southwestern University. She graduated from Mid America University, Kansas City with a Business Degree.
Jamie and her beloved husband Bart started their adventure together by marrying on a paddle boat at Lake Tahoe. They were together 26 years.
She worked for Met Life in the health insurance division in Kansas City, and later worked for other health insurance companies in Tulsa and ended her career at Cole Paine and Carlin Insurance Agency in Oklahoma City, OK with 18 years of service. She worked virtually from home, literally up to a week before she passed away. She loved her job and the people she worked with.
Jamie had a kind heart and loved helping others. She served as philanthropy chairman of her Phi Mu Alumni Sorority and she volunteered at a Safe Home for battered women and children in Tulsa.
She was especially proud of her son Bryant's accomplishments and they spent a lot of fun times together when her husband Bart was traveling for his job. Bryant went along with her on many shopping trips where she bought lots of clothes, and then went with her when she took them back to the store! Her family enjoyed camping out with her parents at Lake Eufaula and traveling each year to Pensacola Beach on Spring Break. She went on two camping -motorcycle trips each year with Bart and their friends, Spence and Jamie Ruble. The two Jamies did more shopping than riding sometimes. Jamie, Bryant, and Bart fulfilled one item on her bucket list by going to Key West, FL on Thanksgiving Break last year. She loved going on adventures with her friends and family!
Jamie was very health conscious, sometimes walking four miles at a fast pace, taking her dogs on the jaunt, also. She was an excellent water skier mastering the slalom at an early age. She enjoyed swimming and sunbathing.
Bart made her a special raised garden space (the deer like certain vegetables). From a relatively small space, she raised tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and watermelon. She loved being able to give some of it away to friends and relatives. She painted several beautiful barn quilts while convalescing.
Some friends have commented that she was such a sweet person, but Josh Price said it best, there are angels on this earth, and Jamie was one of them. Heaven is certainly lucky to have our angel there now.
Jamie is survived by her husband Bart Leach, son Bryant Leach a student at OSU, parents James and Elda Davis of Bethany, OK, sister Jill and husband Robb Ostrom of Maud, OK, niece Jaclyn Price and husband Josh of Pagosa Springs, CO, niece Nicole Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, many cousins, and numerous friends, some she's had since grade school.
