Nov 3rd, 2020 Jim went to his Eternal Home & into the Loving Arms of His Savior, Jesus Christ. Born James C. Hickey, Jr on September 5th, 1926 to Coy & Jewell Hickey in Erick, OK. He was Son of Sharecroppers.
Jim had a younger sister, Nila, and brother, Jack. At the age of Eight years Jim started spending his summers working at Mr. Smith's farm picking Cotton & Watermelons. Besides being a hard worker, Jim excelled at Sports while going to school in the old Putnam City School System. Jim won many meets and honors wrestling during Jr. High and High School at the original Central Campus. James was offered a position on the University of Oklahoma Wrestling Squad after High School.
On November 19, 1948 Jim married the love of his life, June Howard. Together they had two children, David James and Teresa June. Jim went on to work 40+ years in the Underground Dept. at OG&E. In 1968 he fulfilled his childhood dream of owning his own acreage and building his dream home in Edmond, OK. Jim's family home was a "U Build It" before it was cool. Jim was still living in this home at the time of his death 52 yrs later. Besides God, his family and his country, Jim loved to work in his gardens, read all kinds of books and listen to music.
Jim is preceded in Death by his parents, Coy & Jewell Hickey, his wife of 51 years, June Hickey and his Sister, Nila Denney of Edmond. Jim is survived by his Brother, Jack and Wife, Vivian of Piedmont, His children: David Hickey And Wife, Teresa of Monte Vista CO and Teresa June Harvey of the Home, Five Grandchildren: Amanda Marroquin of Hayward, CA, Sarah Evans of Conifer, CO, James Hickey of Kailua-Kona, HI, Phillip Harvey of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Anna Hickey of Littleton, CO. Jim has 7 Great-Grandchildren: Nate, Ben, Lucas, Declan, Conner, Brennan and Nila June. There are many Nephews, Nieces, Neighbors and Friends that Jim Loved in his sweet way, and with his huge heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
