As a Veteran, Jim was very proud of the time that he served his country and sported his Army cap just about every time he left the house. His stories about weekend-leave with his buddies while stationed in Germany were definitely on the wild side but Jim happily traded that in to be Dad and Poppy to his children and grandchildren, who miss him tremendously.
Jim’s frequent phone calls to his children and grandchildren were often filled with sentiments like, “What?? I CAN'T GET THIS DAMN PHONE TO WORK!” and “Did you watch the Chiefs game?” His dislikes for technology and Tom Brady were outmatched only by his love for his family, with whom Jim wanted to spend all of his time.
Loretta: the mother of his children and the only woman Jim devoted his life to sharing his passions and grievances. He got a kick out of annoying Loretta, but he knew he could always count on her to be his friend.
His children, Trinda, Tabitha, and Jeremy, are Jim's greatest accomplishments. He would have given everything he had if it meant their happiness and well being. Jim loved his children unconditionally and would never miss an opportunity to let them know. Trinda, Tabitha, and Jeremy, use your damn phones; Dad loves you.
His grandchildren, Alex, Dante, Domico, and Bella, kept Jim's spirit youthful and silly. Nothing brought him more joy than being around his grandkids and sharing a good laugh. Alex, Dante, Domico, and Bella, you will always be Poppy's little buddies, and, remember, Poppy is forever proud of you!
The sudden passing of Jim reminds us how abruptly life can change and that it is okay to play Christmas music anytime you want.
Due to covid, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Disabled American Veterans: dav.org, while enjoying a bucket of fried chicken.
