James Jim W. Adair

Jim is survived by Susan, his devoted and loving wife of 27 years. He is also survived by his children, Glen, Jan, Kathryn, Cathy, and Shannon; eight grandchildren; his brother, Jerry; and sister, Reba. His parents were Ralph and Velma Adair.

Jim lived most of his life in Oklahoma City, but also lived in Woodward, OK and Lewis, KS for many years, where he owned Cross Alfalfa for 36 years. He was committed to supporting Cross' employees and their families as well as his own. And he was deeply grateful when Ann Derley was able to take the reins three years ago. Under Ann's leadership, Cross continues a 50-plus year tradition of contributing to the community of Edwards County, KS.

Jim's fear of flying turned into a lifelong passion when he learned to fly in his twenties. In 1960, he built Expressway Airpark in Oklahoma City, turning a bootlegging grass strip into a legitimate airport, where many private pilots shared their love of flying.

Services will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3.
