Jaime was the son of Johnnie Edward McAlpine, deceased and Donna Rose Oller, Deceased and brother to Louis McAlpine, Deceased. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Lee Ann Wall McAlpine, his daughter, Caitie Rose Nolop, son-in-law, Fred Nolop, grandsons, Zeppelin Michael Nolop, Jett Jameson Nolop, his sisters, Jennifer Stevenson, Jacqueline McAlpine, Jonna Maroney and her husband, Brad Maroney, nine nieces, four nephews, four great nieces and six great nephews.
Jaime graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Technology in 1979 and had graduated from Putnam City High School in 1975. He started Chermac Energy Corporation in 1982 and later started Chermac Services. Jaime went on to shift his energy development towards wind and renewable energy in Oklahoma and Texas developing numerous energy projects over his life. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, a charter member of Oak Hills Church and a member of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association.
Jaime’s love for his family, his church family and his work was only surpassed by his love for God. He loved the mission work in El Salvador and his time reading on the beach and swimming in the ocean. Jaime never expected to achieve anything through sheer willpower. He did not seek or expect an outcome through prayer alone. Jaime started all things by committing his thoughts and plans to God’s will. He sought God’s blessing, guidance and discernment and then, he worked. He contributed. He worked more. And, with God’s help and blessing, Jaime’s legacy to those that knew him was that he was a living example of love and commitment to God, family, church and friends. If he was part of your family or a friend, you were blessed.
Jaime and his sister Jacquie were 18 months apart and thick as thieves. He was the typical younger brother that enjoyed teasing and pestering. Jaime and Jacquie loved the drives to look at the oil rigs blasting rock and roll as loud as they could. Jaime also excelled at being the annoying big brother to Jonna neither of which would back down from a competition.
Jaime and Cheryl met in high school however, their meeting has two versions with Jaime’s story of how they met being the most entertaining. They were best friends, they were partners in life, partners at home and partners in business. On April 1, 1987, their family grew with Caitie Rose joining them. April 1, 1987 was their very first “gotcha day” celebration which was an annual celebration of great joy. That joy grew as their family grew with Fred Nolop marrying Caitie Rose. That joy was eclipsed when Zeppelin was born in 2011 and Jett was born in 2022. Cardboard rocket ships, laser sword fights, nerf gun wars, swimming and, Jaime’s favorite, cannonball contests were just a few of the shenanigans Jaime loved to participate in and would stop what he was doing to enjoy with his beautiful grandsons.
He was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of all his nieces and nephews and at the same time, the biggest agitator. He loved all of his family fiercely. He taught them to give generously without the expectation of return. He was the living embodiment of love.
Jaime’s has left a legacy of love that will continue to expand in those he left behind and the generations to come.
