Irvin Johnson was born April 7, 1942 in Franklin, Louisiana. He lived a long life full of both highs and lows. He was easy to like and had friends wherever he was. Whether he knew you for five minutes or twenty years, he always treated those around him like family.
A grizzly exterior with a teddy bear center and a heart bigger than most, he would give you his last if you were in need.
He had many jobs throughout his life. He worked on cargo ships and with racehorses to owning a janitorial business with a few stops in between.
He went by many names from those who knew him, but the most important ones were Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Son, Uncle, and Brother.
Irvin had a giving heart and will be loved and missed by so many.
He refused to let his age slow him down and was always on the go. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren. His pastimes were slow dancing with his wife, trips to the casino and going to live concerts.
Irvin was called home on August 7, 2022. He is preceded in death by his Parents; Lillie Mae Douglas, Joseph Johnson, and Stepfather; William Volter. He is survived by his Wife and Love of 42 years; Diane Johnson, his Sister; Wilma Jean, Juanita “Coo”, Izola, Debbie, Andrea, and Audrey, his Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
