Irma Underwood Pike, 92, passed away June 15, 2010 in Oklahoma City. She was born November 3, 1917 in Brilliant, Alabama to H.H. and Louisa (Smith) Underwood. Irma lived and worked in Alabama until May 1962 when she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked at Western Electric until her retirement in 1982. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling, and arts and crafts. Irma made beautiful hand crafted dolls; she enjoyed painting landscapes and floral pictures and did ceramic works that will be treasured by family members forever. Irma’s favorite past time was spending time with her family and special friends from her working years at Western Electric. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dalton Underwood and James Underwood; and two sisters, Amalee Underwood and Velma Lee Walker. Irma is survived by her three children, Irma Elizabeth Pike of Mustang, Oklahoma, William H. Pike and his wife, Sallie Ann, of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and Almeta Kay Emery and her husband, Steve Emery, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Rodney Pike and his wife, Heather, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Gregory Owens and his wife, Sandra, of Jones, Oklahoma, Tamara Owens of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Shawn Owens and his wife, Shannon, of San Antonio, Texas, Jon Paul Owens and his wife, Misti, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Helen Barbour of Coconut Creek, Florida; five step-grandchildren, Terri McFarland of Moore, Oklahoma, Leon Fanning of Noble, Oklahoma, Tammy Davis of Sterling, Oklahoma, Shelley Ward of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Stephanie Emery of Moore, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren, Zoe Pike, Layton Pike, Brittany Culbertson, Tyler Culbertson, Austin Owens, Matthew Owens, Hannah Owens and Nikki Barbour; and two great-great grandchildren, Skylar and Kaleb; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
