Howard Lee House was born 07/19/1959 in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Marcus Edwin House and Ruth Ann Brown-Tidwell and went to be with our Lord on 07/19/2021. He was the eldest of three children with two younger sisters: Tracey Lynn House-Hill and Kelley Jane House-Speck.
The majority of Howard’s youth was spent in Piedmont, Oklahoma, where he made lifelong friends and met the love of his life. On 03/13/1976 Howard married his high school sweetheart, Clarissa Ann Minton-House. They shared 45 amazing, adventure filled years together. Shortly after they were wed, they moved their family from Yukon, Oklahoma to Cashion, Oklahoma where they raised their two sons, Jacob Emery House and Justin Drew House. The couple moved back to Yukon, Oklahoma in November of 2000, where they have lived for the past 21 years.
Howard was a hard worker and an incredibly talented Master Carpenter. He owned his own company, House Trim Etc, and was regarded as an expert in his craft. His impeccable work can be seen in some of the most exclusive homes, several businesses, custom re-models, lake cabins and family homes across the state of Oklahoma. No matter the size of the job, Howard ensured that his customers received the very best in customer service, quality and his extraordinary work ethic.
As much as he was dedicated to his work, Howard’s main focus and first love was his family. His two sons and their wives gave him the gift of 4 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren whom he spoiled relentlessly. He shared with them his love of the great outdoors, teaching them how to hunt, fish and even how to scuba dive. His birthday was spent at Lake Eufaula fishing and pulling the grandchildren behind his boat or his newly acquired Sea-Doo. He took great pleasure in seeing them learn to love spending time with family and making precious memories. Howard also loved his friends, “his people” who shared his passions and who often accompanied him and Clarissa as they traveled the world. He found God in all his splendor in all that surrounded him. He equally loved sitting quietly in the early morning light, the thrill of the hunt or exploring the deep blue seas.
Howard will be forever missed by each and every life he touched. He was a loyal companion, steadfast and honorable. He was firm in his beliefs and never wavered in his commitment to his family. Rest easy “Papa Howie”. Thank you for showing all of us the true meaning of love and how to lead a family with strength and compassion.
Howard is survived by his wife, Clarissa Ann Minton-House of their home in Yukon, Oklahoma. His two sons and daughter-in-laws: Jacob Emery House and Crystal Martha House of Cashion, Oklahoma, Justin Drew House and Cassie Nicole House of Boise City, Oklahoma.
