Helen Elizabeth Abel, 95, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, following years of declining health.
She was born October 6, 1915, in Cisne, Illinois, the daughter of William and Della Monroe Abel.
During her business career, she was office manager for Carson Oilfield Supply Company until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Travel was her joy, and she journeyed to Alaska, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and France.
She was the last surviving member of her family, being preceded in death by her sister and only sibling, Edna, and her parents.
Survivors include her extended family: her childhood friend, Jean Richter, and Jean's daughters and son-in-law, Holly and Douglas Eaton, all of Little Rock, Arkansas, Judy Dillon of Independence, Kansas, and Helen's good friend, neighbor and caregiver, Johnny Mitchell.
