Genevieve (Rodgers) Smith, of Choctaw, OK passed away Monday, February 11, 2020 at home with Hospice care. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on NE 23rd Street. Genevieve was born on April 16, 1921, to Mattie Bell (Wells) and James Rodgers in Britton, OK. Her mother passed away when she was 5 months old and she was raised by her Grandma Wells. She married James Monroe Smith on December 24, 1938, in Tecumseh, OK. During her career she worked as either a Director or Teacher in 5 different Child Care facilities to include; First Baptist of MWC, First Southern of Del City, Crestwood Baptist of OKC, and Rose State College. To this union was born 3 children; James Lee, Lloyd Hardin, and Pamela Kay. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Rodgers & Mattie Bell (Wells) Rodgers and her husband, James Monroe Smith. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy & Lloyd (Judy); daughter, Pam; grandchildren, Mendy, Marsha, Jason (Lloyd), Brad (Jimmy); 11 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Braelyn, Samuel, Jonathan, Jacob, Emalee, Nathan, Micah, Toran, Jaelin, and Harper. Genevieve was a lifetime member of Soldier Creek Baptist Church of Midwest City, OK. A special thank you to Physician’s Choice Hospice and Michelle, Paula, and Ketra.
