Douglas McCord

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood H. McCord and Mary Jane Nolen McCord; and his brother Michael D. McCord.

He is survived by his sister, Agatha Luanne McCord Alexander of Okemah, OK; two nieces and their families: Jenna Kramer, her husband Leroy, and their two children Alec and Seth of Wylie, TX; and Heather Everett, her husband Andy, and their two children Piper and Sam of St. Martin, Guernsey, Channel Islands; And by his wonderful partner of 32 years Rick Moses of Oklahoma City, Ok.

Douglas graduated from Harding High School 1965. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University, the University of Central Oklahoma, and finished his college career at Oklahoma State University. Douglas valued education and was in a continuous search of knowledge. He enjoyed educating others and was frequently heard saying: "Oh, no you're wrong. Let me tell you why you're wrong".

Douglas was the owner of Concept Framing as a Master Picture Framer for over 40 years. He excelled at growing orchids and was a member of The Orchid Society. Douglas also was a proud member of both Red Tie Night and The Democratic Party.

Not only did Douglas love entertaining his friends and family, he took pride in his orchids, gardening, debating, the Arts, and cooking, where the usage of a microwave was strictly prohibited. Douglas was an avid reader on a wide array of subjects and he prided himself on his extraordinary memory.

While we ask to everyone celebrate Douglas' life in their own way, it would be perfectly acceptable to drink a glass of Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky in his memory.
