Don graduated from Central State College and received his Bachelors of Science from Central State College.
He was married to Bertha Grace Deen on June 20, 1964.
Don had a career as a computer programming instructor for F.A.A. academy until his retirement.
Don and his brothers built and worked on cars and motorbikes from a young age and his passion for tinkering and riding cycles lasted throughout his life.
"A penny for your thoughts?" The family story is, that's what dad asked mom when he first met her and the rest is history. All of that unconditional, faith-filled love, made one amazing family.
When Don and Bert lived in New Jersey, he became fascinated with the world of antique pocket watches and grandfather clocks. He could fix and restore anything he touched.
Dad was a man of many hobbies. He owned lots of boats, loved fishing, sailing, and was an impressive slalom skier at Lake Arbuckle.
He earned trophies for Target shooting, played billiards, golfed, boated, built remote control race cars, and flew RC planes. He enjoyed his ham radio, and playing drums.
Later in life, Don enjoyed singing country music every Tuesday night at Guthrie's American legion jam sessions.
Everyday during summer, dad would tend to the pool knowing the grandkids were on their way over!
Don loved his wife and family, and God above all else.
We love you daddy.
He was survived by his wife Bertha Grace Sullivan, children Sherry Darrow, and Bryan and Dana Carter, grandchildren Cora and Kyla Carter, brother Wayne Sullivan and many nieces and nephews.
