Don Reo Jacobs left this world to the loving arms of our Lord on January 26, 2021. Don was born January 23, 1929 to Kessie and Noel Jacobs. He spent his childhood on the family homestead in Perkins, Oklahoma. Don is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and wife. Don was the youngest of nine children, having six brothers, Jake, Rex, Pete, Chett, Ross and Bill and two sisters, Katherine and Lyla. Stories from his family told Don, being premature at birth, fitting into a shoebox. He is survived by his three children, Joanna D. Kearnes and husband Jerry, Michael D. Jacobs and wife Deanna, and LaDonna D. Barton and husband Michael. After graduating high school, Don attended trade school. He applied his knowledge to a career at Tinker Air Force Base as an Aircraft Engineer. Don told the story of how he knew he would marry the beautiful, blue-eyes waitress he met in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Don and Lena Arvella Hill were married and made their home in Jones, Oklahoma where they raised their three children – Joanna, Michael and LaDonna. They were happily together for 44 years until Arvella’s passing in 2009. Don was a loving and crafty man who always put God and family first. He was known as Mr. Fix-It to his family, nothing ever went to the trash until it was completely “used up”. He could and did fix everything. It did not matter if it was electrical, wood, or mechanical – he would fix it. His children tell of how he never got rid of anything. If it was worn out or broken he would hunt down whatever parts were needed to make sure it was fixed. He was also known or telling stories and having quite an imagination. He could “make up” a believable story at the drop of a hat. Michael remembers the story of a painted pony that he used to tell a few years back. Once, when Don was in the hospital he made up a story about a dog (that he never had) and had a couple of people (his own daughters included) believing it. He was known for his ornery ways of making up stories that made everyone giggle. Don also leaves behind six grandchildren: James Pinkerton, Danny Pinkerton, Justin Jacobs, Nathan Barton, David Barton, and Jenna Jacobs; and six great grandchildren: Jacksen Jacobs, Grayson Jacobs, Kyson Jacobs, Jake Pinkerton, Emma Pinkerton, Kaiden Barton, Carter Barton and Wesley Barton to join us in March of 2021. Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing Monday, February 1st and Tuesday February 2nd at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home both from 4pm to 8pm. Services will be Wednesday, February 3rd at 2pm.
