Dan Arlin Garlow went home to be with the Lord April 10, 2011, after a very long illness, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Oklahoma City, to Joseph Earl and Cretia Garlow on November 29, 1935. Surviving Dan is his wife of 50 years, Carolyn; his daughters and their husbands, Vicki and John Sanders, Debra and Ed Zaidi; four grandsons and their wives, Jeff and Kristin Sanders, Chris and Chanda Sanders, Greg and Melissa Sanders and Jacob Zaidi; Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Chris, Josh, Tyler, Bryce, Sydney, Gracie, and Brody. Dan is also survived by one brother, John and wife Suzanne Garlow, sister Anita and husband Gary Fiedler, and sister Janet and husband Larry Perry. Dan graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City, attended OBU in Shawnee for 2 years, received his Bachelors Degree in Business from OCU on August 23, 1963 and his Masters of Business Administration from OCU on May 18, 1968. Dan retired after 32 years of service from AT&T, starting in accounting and in later years serving as Assistant Manager in the Oklahoma City Plant. Dan loved all sports and especially watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play. He was an avid bowler, tennis player, golfer and even played baseball on the Army team in Germany. He and Carolyn loved to travel, and traveled world-wide, they also loved spending time at their cabin in Prescott, Arizona. Dan was a very happy and loving friend, relative, father, grandfather and husband. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Most of all, Dan loved the Lord and his church, Quail Springs Baptist Church, serving as a teacher, department leader, Chairman of Leisure Livewires and serving on many committees. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Quail Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 12, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends from 6-8 pm.
