Damon P. McLain, 76 years old of Choctaw Oklahoma, entered into heaven on September 14, 2014. He was born February 20, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He served honorably in the United States Air Force for twenty years.
He served in The Azores, at Holloman Air Force Base, Alamogordo New Mexico, a tour in Thailand also, Canon Air Force base in New Mexico, and Vietnam. He retired from Tinker Air Force base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Then worked as a purchasing agent and went on to become a service officer for Veteran’s Affairs.
Damon was happily married for fifty six years to his loving wife Dottie McLain. He left behind a large beloved family. His oldest son Mike and wife Debbie McLain. Their oldest daughter Tuesday and husband Jason Stephens. Their six children: Andy, Talia, Mallory, Henry, Joey, and Ben. Mike’s second daughter Barbee and husband Speedy Hendrix. Their five children: Sebastian, Haden, Kaine, Luke, and Izzy. Mike and Debbie’s youngest children Ashton and Kirsten. Damon’s second son, Jim and wife Becky McLain. Their son Zac and his wife Kelsey McLain. Their daughter Jessica McLain and Fiancée Brad Utterback, and their daughter Madison. Damon’s oldest daughter Lisa. Her oldest daughter Nicole and husband Jesse. Their children Hannah and Millie. Lisa’s second oldest daughter Sara and son Chase with his fiancée Tayler. Damon’s youngest daughter, Michelle and husband Scott Hammon. Their two daughters Megan and Cara. Surviving brother Jeff and his wife Carolyn McLain with several nieces and nephews. Damon was loved by many friends as well. He left behind his faithful companion Scooter.
Damon was baptized on March 1975 in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was involved at Nicoma Park Lodge as a 32nd degree mason.
Damon loved to collect just about anything, including: guns, knives, fishing tackle and especially antiques. He enjoyed buying, selling, or trading. He also loved spending time at Lake Eufaula especially with his children, grand-children, great-grandchildren as well as extended family. One of Damon’s favorite past-times was fishing. He will forever fish with the greatest fisher of men, Jesus Christ.
